Taylor Robert Fractures Vertabrae at Speedworld

1/23/2009 - This is Taylor.

I did end up fracturing my T5 vertebrae from a high speed crash out a speedworld. I was practicing for the New Years GP race and there are a couple of very high speed straight aways on the GP course. I was on one of those high speed straight aways in about 4th gear on my 450 when I wrecked. The cause of my wreck was because I was coming up on a slower rider very fast and as I was approaching him he swerved to get out of my way but ended up swerving right into me, sending me cartwheeling into the desert and fracturing my T5 vertebrae.

I do not think it was the track or the style of the track at all that caused this wreck. It was purely due to the fact that there should not be beginners out on a track that is that fast at the same time as Pro riders. Especially with a track that has 100 ft plus jumps and 5th gear straight aways. If they must have all the riders on the track at the same time, then we must preach to the slower and less experienced riders that they must hold their line. The faster riders are experienced enough to make smart passes and when a slower rider trys to get out of the way it only messes up the faster riders.
